A good idea for you to do is continue buying the fakes - taking them out of circulation in the process - and then putting them on a corkboard or in a shadowbox and use them as a teaching tool to help people learn about all the ways a car can be faked.

Hot wheels are going down the same road as beany babies. Grossly over bought and over hyped. You can see the current downward spiral. People are more concerned about paying their bills than buying hotwheels or any other collectibles for that matter.

I respect what you do, and yes when a kid any child loves any of my car collection, and if they want one the yes I must definitely with joy will give them a car or what ever they like of any of the toys I collect or rescue. Kids first 😊

Most aren't worth anything at all. The hobby is almost dead. Grown men have ruined it for the kids. If you find one that you like. Just take it out of the package and send it down the track.

I never had one as a kid and was wondering if you know what size elastic bands they used because the ones that are on it are both very old and broken. Thank you for your time. I see guys on eBay with these prototypes unspun with pink rubber tires I like to message them and say Mattel would never do that. I build customs so I know what is possible.

I buy them to customize and place back in the original blister and card. Some I don't because they won't fit when customized. Either way, it's fun to do when it's cold or rainy out. I used to collect. But that got ruined because in my area , several people had friends working at the stores and pulled their orders. So you couldn't get much that would be worth anything. Witnessed it first hand back in 1997. So now I just run across them now and again. And jist some cool.ones I have ideas about. Other then that. I don't collect anymore.

Hey there I been trying to find a specific hot wheel from my childhood. I was wondering what the name for the hot wheel was, it was a blue hot wheel with silver on it, with maybe yellow or silver wheels and this is the most important part, it had a toy flame on the back that u could pull or press out. If anyone knows the name of the hot wheel so i could aquire it again, that would be great.

I have done some work in China with Chinese businessmen and I can tell you that they will steal and copy anything that they think they can make a dime on. They don't care about patents or copyrights, in fact, they blatanty ignore them. Yeah, I saw the screws right off...

I don't do customs, but what I will do is get an original empty blister pack for my near mint redline and seal it in. Makes a great display and costs a fraction of a never opened redline bp. Do you consider that fake too ? (I would never claim it was unopened).

Well, somebody might want to tell the people at Halls guide the bad news, because they have both cars listed as being valued at hundreds each. If you run a price guide and don’t actually know about the product you are pricing, how can you be trusted? I can’t believe that there are millions of hot wheels collectors and we can’t get a legitimate price guide. I don’t collect for the money and have sold very few of them. But at the same time, if you are in a business that has millions of collectors, then respect the collector of your product and put out a legitimate price guide! You might get more collectors! Now since I can’t trust Halls guide, where do I turn to?

I don't know what you think of you guides the following year listing wheel types and variations. I bought a 2000 year Lee's Toy Guide listing all 1999 Hot Wheels and the wheel variations and other characteristics variations such as white interior or "made in Malaysia" or other. I haven't wanted to buy a Hot Wheels variation because I just collect for fun, custom and play.

Been collecting hotwheels diecast since I was 12 years old some 55 years later my love ❤️ is just the same coming up to 10thousand models I've banned collectors from my house because they always want to buy cheap and make a profit i don't sell because i enjoy looking through the range and truly appreciate what i have 🤠🦅⭐👍✌️🏁🏁

Not to mention there was a variation missing outline hoodstripes on blue .... saw the wiki showing the white interior on gold ..... talk about easy to fake that as well as the blue 5 dot ...
